JCI SAVANNAH TURNS JUNK INTO TREASURE WITH GARAGE SALE
FUNDRAISER
JCI Savannah Hosts Fundraiser on October 13, 2007
Savannah, GA; September 26, 2007
The Junior Chamber International (JCI) of Savannah, locally known as Savannah Jaycees, is
hosting their Fall Garage Sale fundraiser to support JCI community projects such as Santa's
Helpers, Kid Care ID and Camp Dream. The garage sale will take place on Saturday October
13th, 2007 from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Savannah Jaycees Clubhouse located at 101 Atlas
Street, Savannah GA 31406. Items for sale include but are not limited to household items,
furniture, books, linens, jewelry, and clothes.
JCI is accepting donations for sale items now until Friday October 12th, delivery and/or drop off
times to Savannah Jaycees Clubhouse is available on the following days: Saturday September
29th and Saturday October 6th from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM; or weeknights Monday October 2nd ,
Tuesday October 9th, and Thursday October 11th from 6:00-8:00 PM. For all other times or

Junior Chamber of Commerce Spring Speaker Event
Howard Morrison - March 13, 2007
The Savannah Junior Chamber of Commerce is hosting Savannah
native, Howard Morrison as their Spring Speaker on Tuesday, March 13,
2007 at 6:30 p.m. Morrison will present the vision of Savannah in 2033
and impact that today's young leaders will have on our city. Free
for members and $5.00 for non-members. Doors open at 6 p.m.

community service in the public interest, developing as leaders in

of each month at the Wild Wings Cafe in City Market at 6:00 p.m. and a

The Savannah Jaycees have been involved in a number of community
projects such as the Moses Jackson Center, Santa's Helpers Project, Kid

SAVANNAH JAYCEES ANNOUNCE
THE 2006 HAUNTED HOUSE FUNDRAISER
The Savannah Jaycees are proud to announce the return of our
annual Haunted House fundraiser. This year the 2006 Haunted House
(Savannah themed) will be located at the Jaycee clubhouse at 101 Atlas
Street in midtown Savannah.
The Haunted House will be open on October 20, 21, 27, 28 and 31st from 6 pm to 9 pm.
Ticket prices include Adults - $7.00 Children (under 12) - $3.00
$1.00 off admission price for canned/non-perishable food item donation and $ 3.00 off for Red Cross Blood Donors.
Directions to 101 Atlas Street: Go to Derenne Avenue turn onto
Habersham towards Kensington Park, take a right onto Varn Street then
right onto Atlas Street. The Jaycee building is at the end of
street. Parking available in the lot or on the
street.

The Savannah Jaycees will host the 3rd Annual Mini-Golf
Tournament Fundraiser on Saturday, August 26, 2006 from 4 p.m. to
8 p.m. Proceeds from the tournament will benefit local Jaycee
community projects such as The Moses Jackson Community
Center, Safe Shelter, Kid Care ID, The Georgia Jaycees
Camp Dream, and The Old Savannah City Mission. The
tournament will be held at the Putt Putt Golf Course at 202 Mall
Blvd., Savannah, GA 31406. Festivities begin with
tournament registration, a cookout, and practice rounds at 4 p.m.
Shotgun start begins at 6:15 p.m. Donated prizes will be awarded
from local businesses. Tickets are $40.00 for a two-person
team, which includes dinner and two rounds of golf. To purchase

SAVANNAH JAYCEES SPONSOR TWO LOCAL
CAMPERS AT THE GEORGIA JAYCEES CAMP DREAM
The local chapter of the United States Junior Chamber of
Commerce, the Savannah Jaycees, sponsored two local campers and one
camp counselor from Armstrong Atlantic State University, to attend the
Georgia Jaycee Camp Dream, in Warm Springs, Georgia. The camping
session ran from June 21st to 25th, 2006. Camp Dream was designed and
built to be barrier-free and accessible for people of all ages,
regardless of the severity of their disability. This facility
is a gift of love to disabled Georgians, a place where they have an
opportunity to develop their full potential in a rustic natural setting
(http://www.jayceescampdream.org). The local Savannah camper was 15
year-old Robert "Robbie" Massengale, who is diagnosed with Cerebral
Palsy (Father is Tim Massengale - 912-660-3144). The other camper was
another 15 year-old, male from Guyton who is diagnosed with Autism
(Still waiting on media release from family).
Throughout the year the Savannah Jaycees hold
numerous events and fundraisers to raise money to send campers and
counselors to Camp Dream such as the Annual Mini-Golf Tournament
(August 26, 2006), Haunted House (Oct 20-21,27-28, & 31, 2006),
Garage Sale
(Spring & Fall), Savannah Sand Gnat fundraisers
and the funds collected from the Jaycees' Gumball machines throughout
Savannah.

The Savannah chapter of the Jaycees will be hosting a
Christmas party for neighborhood children at the Moses Jackson Center
on Saturday, December 3, 2005 from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Members will
be helping children with holiday crafts activities, providing lunch,
hosting a visit from Santa Claus. The Jaycees will
be distributing gifts purchased from monies raised through fundraising
activities such as the Jaycees sponsored gumball machines, mini-golf
tournament, garage sale, and the Spring Fair. Santa is expected to
arrive around 1:00 p.m. Approximately 50 children and expected to
participate this years event. The Santa Helpers project is an annual
event host by the Savannah Jaycees.

SAVANNAH JAYCEES HOST TRAINING & DEVELOPMENT WORKSHOP NATIONAL JAYCEE VICE PRESIDENT SWEARS IN NEW LOCAL MEMBERS
The Savannah chapter of the Jaycees participated in a training and development
workshop lead by the Georgia Jaycees at the local headquarters located on 101 Atlas Avenue in Savannah on Saturday, October 1, 2005. Workshop presenters included Dewayne Sumner, Jaycees National Vice President, Beverly Hamby, Georgia State President, Stacia Mentus, Georgia State Vice President, and Andrea Perry, Presidential Assistant. For the United States Jaycees to send a National Vice President to Savannah shows a real willingness to support local Jaycees Chapters. It's also a strong indication of their confidence in our Savannah Chapter, stated Savannah Jaycees President Michael Adams. The workshop agenda included seminars in organizational management, community
development and individual development. During the workshop, National Vice President Dewayne Sumner swore in three new members: Chris Benton, Sandy Benton, and Jeff McQuillen.

Savannah Jaycees Host Second Annual Charity Mini-Golf Tournament
The Savannah Jaycees will host their Second Annual Charity Mini-Golf Tournament on Sunday, August 28, 2005. Proceeds from the tournament will benefit local organizations the Jaycees support, including The Moses Jackson Community Center, Safe Shelter, KidCare ID, and The Old Savannah City Mission. "This is a great opportunity for families to come out and support the community," stated Michael Adams, President of the Savannah Jaycees. "Plus, the tournament will be a lot of fun."
